When I first started researching Las Coloradas Pink Lake, I had come across pictures and videos of people swimming in the rosy water, floating on innertubes, and driving along the sand roads in between the pink pools making for an incredible drone shot. I am so grateful we had the chance of seeing these cute animals in their natural habitat even though we could only observe them from afar. According to our guide, someone once dropped a camera into the pink lakes, which is why they are now banned. I was there for almost 12 days and my husband also joined me for a weekend.
